Pirates do have shore leave sometimes, you know, and there's nothing they like better that taking it easy at music festivals. Naturally Glastonbury is one of the best and I suspect that Anne Bonnie and Mary Read will be at sword point fighting over who gets to wear this...
OK, this is my new 'Glastonbury' design necklace, thus named for all the magick in the air around that fantastic area, plus of course it's perfect music festival adornment!
Where to start? With Amy - the centrepiece is another one of Torch by Night's divine gembone beads, made in transparent aqua glass with a framework of smooth and granulated copper, inset with amethyst cabochons, antiqued to a deep patina and polished with wax. This is perfectly accompanied with a strand of genuine faceted amethyst beads and glowing aqua aura rounds (the most sublime bit of human alchemy: clear quartz bonded with gold).
Now I loved the hand dyed ribbons I used on this so much that I couldn't bear to cut the excess at the back, so each ribbon has been finished with another bead so that when you wear this you have beaded back danglies too! How cool is that?! So if you have short hair or wear your hair up at the back, the beautifulness of this design continues behind you for all to behold. Jewelllery bliss!
Fastens with a copper toggle and bar fastener.
Overall length necklace approx. 20", plus gembone length approx. 2" at the front and back danglies length approx. 3" at longest point.
When yer up against the storm and yer ship be pitching this way an' that, thrown around as if by a mighty angry giant, you gotta pray....aye...
This piece is inspired by rosary chains and this double strand necklace features luscious black glass pearls and light-catching jet faceted glass. The fantasticly gothic centrepiece is a hand made bead by Caliente Art Glass. The black glass skull has been heavily antiqued and the angel wings are a glistening gold/bronze finish glass.
An excellent accessory with which to adorn yourself whilst splicing the mainbrace.
Fastens with a chunky over-sized bolt ring fastener.
Overall length approx. 20"
I can smell the sea air.... Beautiful, ethereal necklace inspired by the kind of other-world ocean you might visit in some mystical dream.
The alchemy comes from the man-made magic of sublime aqua aura globes: the bonding of pure gold with clear quartz produces glowing blue spheres of almost luminescent light. This is surrounded by clear rock quartz chip beads, tiny delicate aquamarine cube beads and Tibetan silver spacer beads. There are five dangly charm clusters with the sweetest little seahorses, star engraved moons and shells. Also in the mix are turquoise and natural mother of pearl moons, striking gold and blue lustre cube beads and hand cast pewter Celtic swirl feature beads. And I mustn't forget the jangly silver stardust finish bells! The necklace is strung on 'sea mist' silken cord and finished with Tibetan silver toggle and bar fastener.
Overall length approx. 24"
Long before William Kidd swung above the Thames, hung in the gibot so all of London could view his shame, he stripped naked to the waist and danced wild in Tortuga with Peg Buckett; this was possibly the little dark love token he gave her. (This was before she stumbled into the world of Poxy Pete Salt...)
Featuring exquisite glass skull and bone beads handmade by Right Turn ArtWerks, this necklace is hung with large paua shell beads and Tibetan silver drum beads, finished with hand dyed silk ribbon and satin cord. The necklace fastens with a chunky bolt ring fastener.
Overall length approx. 20".
I love, love, love this - I want one. Fortunately I have the means to make myself one, yay!! (But I'll have to use different beads - that'll be such a hardship, to go shopping for beads again - !)
I wove this superbly chunky necklace in bronze rings. I used an Inca Puno weave to give an eye-catching 3D effect. The bronze is beautifully set off with five bead groups featuring faceted aqua aura surrounding the brilliant blues of Rowanberry Glass Art's handmade beads inspired by the Cornish seas. Stunning, in-yer-face jewellery - perfect!
I have polished and sealed the bronze so there should be no neck staining issues!
Overall length approx. 22"
Not that Calico wore it himself; he wanted to give it to Mary Reed but became so entranced by the jewelled bone that he kept it safely in the breast pocket of his waistcoat. If you ever saw him mid-battle, apparently tapping his heart for courage, he was, in fact, checking that the bone was still there.
I wove copper rings into a helm weave to give the glorious handmade gembone a suitably glowing accompaniment. The bone is handmade by Flamekeeper Lampwork in transparent rose glass with tiny silver granules with an antique patina copper framework and set with garnet and rhodochroisite cabochons. It is utterly beautiful, its no wonder it beguiled Calico Jack. And it's matched perfectly with pretty little beads by Firestone Lampwork. (Nothing but the best for you, my lovely Etsy friend...)
Overall length approx. 20"
Poor Peg - she should've listened to the tales of Poxy Pete Salt for there was no exageration told - they were all true. The necklace is piratically divine but she never got to wear it. Poxy Pete left her standing alone at Sunrise Rock (which was to have served as altar that day) and thus Peg abandoned her wedding jewels...
Featuring exquisite glass skull and bone beads handmade by Right Turn ArtWerks, this necklace is hung with a double row of fabulous natural and dyed seed pearls, interspaced with exquisite little Tibetan Silver skull beads. These in turn are hung with the finest hand dyed silk ribbons in shaded creams. The necklace fastens with an over-sized bolt ring fastener.
Overall length approx. 19.5".
Sublime sparkliness rocks!
Brilliant colours combine to make a majestic statement: vibrant oranges and blues with light-catching faceted glass and lots of Tibetan silver. Central to this piece is the woodland handcast pewter pentacle, which is surrounded by moon and star charms, plus more crystal beads. Strung with silken cord and finished with chunky bolt ring fastener.
This necklace is a real celebration piece, utterly divine in its eye-catching sparkliness!
Overall length approx. 20"
I adore spotty beads and these multi-coloured ones are so bright and happy, full of the promise of spring (which must surely be just around the corner for us poor snowed-upon Brits). These pretty beads were handmade by Firestone Lampwork and are accomapanied by tiny sparkling lime faceted glass. I have woven a Byzantine chain using copper rings and the pendant bead is finished with a lovely smoky Swarovski crystal moon. Subtle, beautiful and unique piece that will inspire any wintered-out psyche to song... The Flower Moon, by the way, is the Native American name for the May full moon.
Overall length approx. 19.5"
Divine necklace, one of Davy's most treasured possessions, plundered from the remains of Pox-face Peter Salt's hide-out when he foolishly nipped out to the shops for some milk instead of waiting for a minion to do his bidding.
I used brilliant bright copper rings to make the helm weave chain which sits on the neck wonderfully, holding its shape. It fastens at the front with a copper toggle and bar fastener.
The stunning glass bead set was handmade by Rachel Cohen and features all the colours of the sea, swirling and washing around, picked out with little Swarovski crystals and copper filigree bead. They make a truly beautiful combination which practically glows against the skin.
I have polished and sealed the copper to preserve its lustre and avoid neck staining issues!
Overall length approx. 22"
I lurve Torch by Night's beads - this must be apparent by now!! Amy is one of my favourite Queens of the Torch....
This midnight necklace features no less than five of Amy's fabulous night-time-look-out-the-window-at-the-moon beads; adorable little window frames through which you can see the moon and stars in the night sky. I've interspaced them with black glass leaves which have a light-catching aurora borealis finish on one side (imagine trees blowing in a gentle breeze at dusk). Also features hand-cast pewter rune beads (the runes translate as 'May the Gods Smile on You) and sumptuous hand dyed ribbons in all the colours of the night sky. Finished with Tibetan silver toggle and bar fastener.
Overall length approx. 20"
Next time some rollicking Viking is on the loose flash this Valhalla necklace at him and he will be yours, all yours, for keeps! (Once they've calmed down a bit Vikings are very useful around the house and usually come with a fully equipped tool box.)
It had to be something very special for these stunning beads, handmade by Erose Beads. To me they suggested something ancient and oppulent and thus seemed the perfect foil for my Viking knit chain woven in silver plated wire with gorgeous in-yer-face ornate Tibetan silver beads. The chain is finished with rope effect toggle and bar fastener.
Overall length approx. 21"
A recurrent theme for WithEver Oak, I know; but without earth, where would we be...?
Featuring gorgeous glass disc beads in earthen shades, handmade by Bluhealer, this necklace's centrepiece is an intricate pewter goddess pendant with spiral and leaf body. The necklace is hung with hand-cast pewter rune beads, hand dyed silk ribbon and satin cord and is finished with over-sized bolt-ring fastener.
Overall length approx. 22.5 (this can be shortened if you wish, just give me a note of the desired length at checkout).

This lovely necklace features beautiful disc beads in spring pastel shades, handmade by Bluhealer. The centrepiece is an intricate pewter goddess charm. The necklace is hung with hand-cast pewter Celtic swirl beads, delicate hand dyed ribbons in fading creams and pinks, and is finished with over-sized bolt-ring fastener.
Overall length approx. 21".
Exquisite lariat style necklace featuring luscious purple and lavender boho mix of handmade glass beads by Bastille Bleu on my Viking knit chain in fruity purple wire finished with Tibetan silver cones.
The necklace fastens at the front with Tibetan silver rope effect toggle and bar fastener, from which dangles a sparkling Swarovski crystal moon, catching the light beautifully, even creating rainbows in the sunshine - fabulous!
Overall length approx. 22"
This is the first time I've used sterling silver as the basis for a necklace. It's a very beautiful, exquisitely pretty metal - to me it's pure moon shine.
This chain utilises a very simple chain maille 'flower' weave (woven by Yours Truly) and in the aforementioned sterling silver it comes alive. The toggle and bar fastener is also sterling silver. It provides a luminous background for the hand made bead set centrepiece, featuring the gorgeous graded warming colours of a spring dawn. I love to use handmade beads by artisan glass workers and this set captures early mornings perfectly, each bead interspaced with another woven 'flower' chain. Beautiful!
